U-Today summer break and some reading tips

| Redactie

Things are a little quieter in the newsroom: we are taking a break for the summer holidays. The editorial team will be away from Monday 13 July until Monday 3 August and will not be available by email either.

Can't wait that long, missed something, or simply looking for something to read while lounging in your beach chair? We have put together some great reading tips for you.

For example, there is this in-depth interview with Bas Borsje, who was named Teacher of the Year in June. Also still fairly fresh off the press is the announcement of new Executive Board president Gregor Halff. We wrote this profile of him.

In early July, U-Today also announced the winner of the Great U-Today Board Photo Competition. Once again, it produced plenty of spectacular, hilarious, and occasionally cringeworthy pictures.

Fortunately, students do more than just study. Some have unusual hobbies, play sports, or pursue particular interests. UT student Lode Slump, for example, is starting a KNVB training programme to become a football coach.

We also do not want to keep our three most-read stories of the past academic year from you. At number three is an interview with Technical Medicine student Martijn Vrouenrats, who graduated from his master's programme with a perfect 10. In second place is the news about criticism surrounding former prime minister Dick Schoof's appearance as a speaker at the opening of UT's academic year. Our investigative story on misconduct by Professor M. takes the top spot.

Finally, on behalf of the entire U-Today editorial team, we wish everyone a wonderful summer!
