EEMCS staff received the email from the Faculty Board on Monday afternoon. In it, the board says it considers Tubantia’s reporting inaccurate and incomplete. As the matter is still ongoing, the board does not wish to comment on the substance of the case. ‘We want to avoid harming the ongoing process or those involved with our response’, the letter states.
The board does confirm that there is a conflict-ridden working environment and that ‘there is a sense of insecurity within part of the Faculty’. It also states that several actions have been taken in response to the situation. It is not clear what exactly these actions were.
Although the action points are not specified, the letter also makes clear that they have not improved the situation. Based on the findings of the external culture survey commissioned by the Executive Board at the beginning of 2026, the next steps are now being determined. According to the Faculty Board, these should lead to the restoration of good working relationships.
The Faculty Board does not specify what concrete steps will be taken. It does state that restoring the working relationships will take time. Finally, the letter says that no further information about the case will be shared while the process is ongoing.
U-Today asked Dean Boudewijn Haverkort for a response. He declined to comment, saying that it is ‘an HR matter’.
