U-Today survey: how are UT staff and students using AI in education?

To what extent are UT students using AI, and how are teachers dealing with this new reality? These questions lie at the heart of a dual survey that U-Today is conducting within the UT community, as part of an investigative journalism project.

Through the survey, we aim to understand from both students and teachers what role AI currently plays in their education. Questions include: how often do students and staff turn to ChatGPT or other AI tools? Is AI being used where it is not allowed? And what are the reasons for choosing to use, or not use, AI?

The student survey consists of eight substantive questions and takes no more than ten minutes to complete. The staff survey includes ten questions and likewise takes no more than ten minutes. Especially at this point in the academic year, we fully recognise the pressure of work and study load and survey fatigue.

The survey is part of an investigative journalism project for which U-Today recently received funding from the Stichting Onderwijsfonds COCMA. The project combines the survey results with personal experiences and expert perspectives.

Your responses will be processed confidentially. We do not request your name, email address, or any other personal details, unless you choose to leave contact information at the end of the questionnaire so we can get in touch, or if you wish to be entered into a prize draw. Five book vouchers will be raffled among all participants. Thank you in advance for your participation.

(Please only fill out the survey that applies to you as either a student or a teacher.)
