'Bossaball' op O&O-plein

De regen mocht de pret niet drukken voor AEGEE. Gisteren gaven ze UT'ers de kans om aan 'Bossaball' te doen, een combinatie van voetbal, volleybal en turnen. En dat op trampolines en een luchtkussen. Een fotoverslag.

O&O-plein fietsvrij: ‘Niet om studenten te pesten’

Het O&O-plein is sinds het begin van het collegejaar fietsvrij. De maatregel leidt tot frustratie en onbegrip van studenten en medewerkers, maar volgens portfoliohouder vastgoed Nico-Tom Pen is de ingreep noodzakelijk vanwege veiligheid en toegankelijkheid.

The O&O Square has been bike-free since the start of the academic year. The measure leads to frustration and misunderstanding from students and staff, but according to portfolio holder real estate Nico-Tom Pen, the intervention is necessary because of safety and accessibility.

UT-verkiezingsdebat: ijsjes, internationalisering en het bsa

Een ingevlogen ijskraam lokte potentiële stemmers vanmiddag naar het UT-verkiezingsdebat op het O&O-plein. Terwijl de toegestroomde studenten wachtten op hun koude consumptie, gingen de twee lijsttrekkers van UReka en DAS met elkaar in debat. Hoewel het kwik richting de dertig graden klom, was van een verhitte discussie geen sprake.

UT electoral debate: ice cream, internationalisation and the BSA

A flown-in ice cream stand lured potential voters to the UT electoral debate at the O&O square this afternoon. While the flocking students waited for their cold refreshments, the two front-runners of UReka and DAS debated with each other. Although temperatures rose towards 30 degrees, no heated discussions took place.

Terreinontwerp ITC: groen en veel fietsstallingen

Het terreinontwerp voor het gebied rondom Langezijds, het nieuwe thuis van de faculteit ITC, is af. Er komt veel groen, aansluiting met het O&O-plein en plek voor zo’n 700 extra fietsen.

ITC terrain design: green and lots of bicycle parking spaces

The design for the terrain around Langezijds, the new home of the ITC faculty, is finished. There will be lots of green spaces, a connection with the O&O square and room for about 700 extra bicycles.

Extra studieplekken op de campus

Op vijf plekken op de campus komen vanaf deze week extra studieplekken voor studenten. Op het O&O-plein en achter de Horst gaan daarvoor twee speciaal opgezette tenten open.
