Last March, the ITC faculty announced a reorganization. As a result, twenty jobs will disappear. Reason enough for Twente for Protest to set up a petition. 'We hope that the Executive Board will reconsider this decision', says Julia Hermann of Twente for Protest.
Hermann thinks the reorganization at the ITC faculty is too premature. She believes that the UT should first wait for the political shifts. 'The Executive Board wants to continue this reorganization, despite the fall of the cabinet. In the autumn, people will leave again, but perhaps politics will look different soon. Then there may be more money available in a while than now. If those people actually leave, it means that you have to hire people again for the places that are now disappearing.'
Offering signatures
The organizer of Twente for Protest wants to put pressure on the Executive Board by collecting signatures. The action started last Saturday, an end date has not yet been set. So far, more than two hundred signatures have been collected.
