This weekend Solar Team Twente participated with two solar cars in the 'European Championship' at the circuit in the Belgian Zolder. Last week the team expressed its intention to go for title prolongation. However, at the main part of the race weekend, the 24-hour race, it was the KU Leuven team that dominated the race. Last year's world champion drove 352 laps on the circuit of Zolder. The cars from Twente finished second and third: RED Shift completed 313 laps, RED E 304.

Because other parts of the race also accounted for the final results - the fastest lap time and a 'dynamic course' - the Groningen Top Dutch team settled on third place, at the expense of RED E.
