Bags of books

Bored this weekend? Venture in the direction of neighboring Germany to browse through 20,000 titles of Dutch and English books at Twente’s largest book fair in Glanerbrug, located on the kerkstraat (Church street), a stone’s throw from the border crossing. Bring home a bag-full of books from Science Fiction to Van Dale dictionaries to Classics at bargain basement prices and most of the proceeds, except for expenses to operate the fair, are donated to local charities. The fair opens on Friday 28 January from 6pm to 9pm. During the day on Saturday and Sunday, 29 and 30 January, the opening hours are from 10am to 5pm.
