‘We want to show that science is cool’

These are the most important reasons why two UT researchers will embark on a ‘Cycle for Science’ tour of more than 400 kilometers across the Netherlands next week. ‘With some common kitchen attributes you can make a solar panel.’

We binge-watch one Netflix show after another, we devour movies and games. Often, it is little more than mindless entertainment. Sometimes, however, it raises scientific questions. Pop culture viewed through the eyes of a scientist. 22 million for 4TU collaboration

Research with a social impact

Conducting research together to resolve social issues. That is the challenge that the 4TU federation posed to the four participating technical universities, along with a research budget of €22 million. UT professors Tatiana Filatova, Herman van der Kooij and Michel Versluis are at the head of three of the five 4TU studies.

'I want to be a scientist, when I grow up'

A group of children from local primary schools visited the University of Twente to get acquainted with the academic environment and to hopefully get interested in science. Twente Academy Young organized a special program for the young visitors, which included a tour of the Nanolab and many fun experiments, such as putting candy in the vacuum machine.

4TU Career Special (#4)

This 4TU Career Special is a shared publication by the news editors of Cursor (Eindhoven University of Technology), Delta (Delft University of Technology), Resource (Wageningen University and Research), and U-Today (University of Twente). The magazine came into being in collaboration with industry, and is explicitly aimed towards students who are either in the final phase of their studies, or have just graduated.
