Solar Team Twente has also won the third stage of the Solar Challenge Morocco. The Twente team had a big lead over Agoria Solar Team from Belgium and is now leading the general classification.

On Tuesday Solar Team Twente also won the stage, but then the difference in time was not enough to pass the Belgian team. On Wednesday the Twente students overtook Agoria Solar Team just after the start in Merzouga. During the 523-kilometer stage, the teams passed through many villages and towns, where it was occasionally hectic due to the heavy traffic. The team from Twente, however, handled these circumstances best. Since the team from Belgium also suffered a flat tire, Twente was able to advance by as much as 36 minutes in the general classification.

Solar Team Twente will be the first to start as classification leader on Thursday. The start is again in Merzouga. The finish of the fourth stage is in Zagora, which was the start and finish of the race earlier this week. Friday is the last stage to Agadir.
