The UT named the 88th most innovative university by Reuters

International press agency Reuters has published its Top 100 Europe’s Most Innovative Universities of 2019. The University of Twente is in the 88th place of this yearly ranking.

The UT has dropped down thirteen places compared to last year when it held the 75th spot on the list. With its current position, the UT is the eighth out of nine Dutch universities on the Reuters list. Leiden University is at the 14th place, ranked as the best in the Netherlands. The KU Leuven (Belgium) is the overall number one, topping the list for the fourth year in the row.

According to Reuters, ‘all 100 of the institutions included in the Top 100 produce original research, create useful technology and stimulate the global economy’.  The ranking is based on proprietary analysis of numerous indicators including patent filings and research paper citations.
