Homey goes international

| Michaela Nesvarova

Homey is going abroad! This product, which connects all your wireless and smart devices at home, is made by a UT spin-off Athom and it will now be available not only in the Netherlands, but also in the UK and Scandinavia.

The Dutch company Athom was founded in 2014 by UT alumni Emile Nijssen and Stefan Witkamp. After successfully launching their product Homey at the Dutch market, the company is going international. For now, Homey will be for sale in the United Kingdom, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. However, Athom aims to launch their product in most of Western Europe later this year.

After a successful Kickstarter Campaign, Homey has won several awards. The product is designed to make device control better and easier by combining all devices at home into a single system. It enables you to control, for instance, your TV, smart thermostats, lightbulbs or speakers. Using Homey, you can then control your entire home with an app – for example, with your smartphone or your voice.
