Een tikkeltje lef, een brandende fakkel en een slok lampenolie zorgden gisteravond, woensdag 24 oktober, voor een spectaculair vlammenspel. S.G. Daedalus, de studievereniging van Industrieel Ontwerpen, organiseerde een vuurspuwavond. Niet alleen voor geoefende spuwers, ook zij die het nog nooit gedaan hadden, konden een poging wagen.
‘We moesten eerst met water oefenen’, zegt Puck Veugelers, ‘zodat je leert een mooie nevel te creëren tijdens het uitspugen. Daarna ga je met lampenolie aan de slag. Je neemt een slok en spuugt deze vervolgens uit over de brandende fakkel. Ja, het is allemaal goed gegaan. Je moet alleen opletten met je haren.’
