Costs and benefits distribution in networked IT projects

| Redactie

Next Friday, Silja Eckartz will defend her PhD. For the past 4 years, the German doctoral candidate has worked on methods to improve cost estimations and benefits management for large IT projects in networks.

Silja: ‘It is very complex to fairly distribute costs and benefits amongst different partners in a network IT implementation’. iDEAL is an example of such a network. According to Eckartz, the main findings of her research are the importance of anonymity and simplicity. ‘I developed a method that keeps the project partners focused on the important things. Also, it enables partners to anonymously bid what they want to invest. This trick has proven to be very helpful.’

Silja Eckartz will defend her thesis on Friday, 31st of August at 16.30h in Waaier 4. Read the full story on her and her research in the next edition of UT Nieuws Magazine, due September 6th.
