Abstract USA-exhibition is open to the public until 20 February 2011 at the Rijksmuseum in Enschede, opening times are from 11am to 5pm. Abstract USA movies are showing at Concordia on 4, 11 and 18 November, 7:30pm, Concordia, Oude Markt.

Enschede has been hit by American retro. The Rijksmuseum is featuring ‘Abstract USA 1958-1968’, an exhibition of abstract American sixties art work. At the same time, Concordia cinema is showing the ‘American Retro’ film series on three subsequent Thursday nights. Classic road movie Easy Rider is followed by Factory Girl, documenting 1960s pop art icon Edie Sedgwick’s life. The third movie, a YouTube-based documentary, focuses on the artists behind ‘Abstract USA’.
