Independent journalism at the University of Twente
Diwali or Deepavali is known to many people around the world as the ‘Festival of Lights’. Considered to be one of the largest cultural festivals and celebrated by millions of Indians, the event usually takes place in mid-October to November. Even though many regional variations exist behind its origin within India, Diwali is generally accepted as the celebration of the triumph of good over evil.
The UT Indian community strives to capture the cultural tapestry behind Diwali by organizing a cultural event where students will perform dances, play musical instruments, serve Indian food, and chime in on a song or two. Over the past three years, the Indian Student Association has been hosting the event. Join them this weekend on 6 November at the Atrium in the Bastille building. This is the sixth edition of ECIU University Magazine. The ECIU University is a massive joint effort of the ECIU member universities and their regional partners. More than a few hundreds of staff members at the member universities and in the regions are collaborating to making the ECIU University a reality. This magazine showcases several activities of ECIU University and the opportunities to engage with the European University.
