Let it snow

Waking up to a campus covered in white is not an everyday sight to behold. Well protected by winter clothing and armed with sleds and snowboard, campus residents created a proper show in the snow. Photographer Frans Nikkels shot this picture series.

Kishore Sivakumar, UT-docent en PhD, is op de campus afgelopen vrijdag belaagd door een groepje jongeren en werd daarbij racistisch bejegend. De Indiase werknemer kon wegkomen, maar wil andere UT’ers waarschuwen. ‘Dit kan jou ook overkomen’.

Kishore Sivakumar, a UT lecturer and PhD candidate, was attacked on campus by a group of adolescents last Friday and was subject to racist comments. The Indian employee was able to get away, but wants to warn other members of the UT community. 'This can happen to you too'.

De actiegroep Enschede Students for Palestine is vanochtend – op de dag van de opening van het academisch jaar – met nieuwe acties begonnen. Op de Vleugel en op meerdere lantaarnpalen op de campus hingen stickers en flyers van de groep.

Politie houdt verdachte van inbraken in campuswoningen aan

De politie hield woensdag een man aan die verdacht wordt van het plegen van inbraken in campuswoningen. De hoop is dat de inbraakgolf – die de campus wekenlang teisterde – nu gaat liggen. Toch blijft wijkagent Erik Dunnewind hameren op het goed sluiten van ramen en deuren.

Police detain suspect of burglaries in campus residences

On Wednesday, police detained a man suspected of committing burglaries at campus residences. The hope is that the wave of burglaries – which plague the campus for weeks – will now subside. Nevertheless, local police officer Erik Dunnewind continues to insist on closing windows and doors properly.
