The ankle injuries of former professional footballer Marco van Basten, who is the subject of the recently released series BASTA, are at the centre of research by UT and Amsterdam UMC. The researchers are working on new methods to detect ankle damage at an earlier stage.

UT-promovenda Sakshi Kannan (33) overleed vorige week tijdens een bevalling. Ze laat haar man, postdoc Kannan Govindaraj, haar vijfjarige dochter en haar pasgeboren dochtertje achter. Om de familie te ondersteunen is een geldinzamelingsactie gestart. Haar begeleider hoopt haar postuum een doctorsgraad toe te kunnen kennen.

UT PhD candidate Sakshi Kannan (33) passed away last week during childbirth. She is survived by her husband, postdoc Kannan Govindaraj, her five-year-old daughter and her newborn daughter. To support the family, a fundraising campaign has been started. Her supervisor hopes to be able to grant her a doctorate posthumously.
