The Keuzegids awards the label ‘top-rated programme’ to programmes scoring 75 points or higher. For the UT, this applies to seven bachelor’s programmes in the latest edition: Management, Society & Technology (81), Applied Physics (80), Creative Technology (79), Communication Science (78), Industrial Engineering & Management, Technical Medicine, and Chemical Science & Engineering (all 76 points).

Four of these programmes were already top-rated last year. Technical Medicine and Industrial Engineering & Management have now joined the list, while Creative Technology takes over the designation from its UT/VU counterpart this year. Applied Physics continues its winning streak: for the fourteenth consecutive year, the programme earns the distinction.

Lower scores for larger programmes

None of UT’s bachelor’s programmes received an ‘insufficient’ score. However, it is notable that the larger programmes tend to score relatively lower. Psychology received 55 points, Mechanical Engineering 56 points, and Technical Computer Science 59 points.

The contrast between the UT’s own programmes and their counterparts offered jointly with the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is notable. While the UT’s Creative Technology scores 79 points and is a top-rated programme, the UT/VU equivalent lags behind with 60 points. For Mechanical Engineering, the picture is reversed: the UT’s programme scores 56 points, while the joint variant earns 67.

Fourth place

With an average of 63 points, the UT once again ranks fourth nationally among the fourteen assessed universities. The Open Universiteit tops the list this year with 72.5 points, followed by Wageningen University (67.5) and Utrecht University (63.5). The Keuzegids bases its scores on results from the most recent National Student Survey.
