Classroom solution
The Netherlands suffers from a lack of trained teachers for optional subjects in high school like mathematics D, due to limited availability or financial constraints. To address this issue, ELAN, a UT teacher training institute, has developed a video conference alternative, allowing pupils from several schools to follow their mathematics D lessons through videoconferencing. A pilot lesson was already demonstrated during a national training workshop for Dutch teachers held at the UT on 14 and 15 June. The innovative project, which involves 17 high schools, has received funding from both national and regional governmental bodies.
