Dutch law students threaten to take Dutch universities to court. The recently founded Foundation Collective Action Universities will be taking several Dutch universities, including those of Utrecht, Maastricht and Leiden, to court if they cannot soon clarify the need for ‘sky raking’ high student fees when students choose to follow a second study. Announced raises in university fees and other cutbacks caused massive protests on 21 January when students, university teachers and research staff, including the UT’s own Rector Brinksma, participated against these rulings.
