Nearly ten thousand euros from Locals to Pakistan

Last autumn, people in the Twente region opened their hearts and wallets to flood victims in Pakistan, raising almost ten thousand euros in donations. In turn, the university’s Pakistini Student Association, now in respect of this generosity, wants to ‘pay it back’ and invite the same community for a movie at the Vesting Bar on 11 April at 7pm. ’Altogether we collected Є9,650 in donations from the UT community, Enschede’s Central Mosque and private people. We transferred Є8,668 to the Edhi foundation and Є1,022 to Akhuwat, a non-profit organization that provides loans for flood victims,’ says PSA President Hammad Qureshi.
