Ahead of nano

Filmmaker Machteld Aardse has captured the fascinating history of the acre of land on which the UT nanotechnology laboratory was built. Her short film ‘The Island’ tells of clashing land use ideologies at the backdrop of a changing Zeitgeist, struggling architects and discarded ecological dreams. The film is on show at the Taiwan Documentary Film Festival, and it premieres in the Amphitheater on Thursday 25 November at 5.30pm.The movie is coupled with an exposition in the Vrijhof’s small exhibition space, on display until 5 December.
