Independent journalism at the University of Twente
Ab van der Touw, voorzitter van de raad van bestuur van Siemens Nederland, spreekt woensdag 28 april de jaarlijkse UT-Innovatielezing uit. Het is voor de vierde keer dat deze bijeenkomst wordt gehouden. Vorig jaar sprak Jan Närlinge, president van Boeing Northern Europe, in 2008 Danuta Hübner, EU-commisaris voor Regionaal Beleid, in 2007 EZ-minister Maria van der Hoeven en in 2006 Philips-president Gerard Kleisterlee.
Van der Touw studeerde klassieke talen en geschiedenis in Leiden en deed daarna nog een MBA, specialisatie Supply Chain Management. Hij is sinds 1985 binnen Siemens Nederland verantwoordelijk voor de divisie Oil and Gas. Vanaf 1 januari van dit jaar is hij voorzitter van de raad van bestuur.
Oud-minister Pieter Winsemius opent maandag 6 september het academisch jaar van de UT.
