Led by the research institute MIRA, European researchers developed a computer model of the musculoskeletal system of the lower half of the human body. The model will allow surgeons to improve their operations and prepare them in advance by being able to practice in virtual reality. The project received a significant European grant of 3 million euro with almost 1 million euro granted for research at the UT. Over four years the researchers anticipate their model will be ready after clinical testing. But project researchers believe that piecemeal solutions can be already put into practice.
