A jury led by former State Secretary Rick van der Ploeg nominated thirteen teams that will represent their respective universities in the Battle of the Universities 2005/2006. For the UT that will be the Maarseveen team, working on Tissue Engineering.
The team with the best plan to popularize scientific research of their own university will get one hundred thousand euros to execute the project. At least half of each team participating in the Battle consists of students. In the preliminary rounds, the jury judged the 65 submissions on communication value, originality and feasibility. They selected one team per participating university. The thirteen finalists have until May 15 to work on their plan.
