International Festival: Meet and Eat!

As is the tradition, the International Festival will be held at the start of the new academic year! The festival offers employees and students of all ranks an excellent opportunity to experience the enormous diversity of cultures at the University of Twente. This year, the theme of the International Festival will be Meet & Eat!

On Tuesday, October 11 at 6 pm, the Bastille will be transformed. The Atrium will be the central place of action for the International Festival, where visitors can enjoy music, spectacular cooking demonstrations and interaction with fellow UTers hailing from various cultures. Furthermore, groups of students will be present at the different stalls throughout the Bastille, offering typical food from their cultures. Please, join the festivities and come sample the many different tastes!

Entrance to the International Festival is free, just like the food!

We are still looking for people willing to cook and serve meals as well as for volunteers willing to help behind the scenes. Several action groups are demanding a different speaker at the opening of the UT's academic year on 1 September. They do not agree with the visit of Dick Schoof, who, according to the activists, is partly responsible for the 'biggest attack on Dutch higher education this century'.

Gezamenlijke gedragscode Pakkerij: ‘Omzien naar elkaar’

De besturen van de vier studentenverenigingen die in de Pakkerij huizen tekenen dinsdag een gedragscode die richtlijnen biedt voor wat wel en niet acceptabel gedrag is. ‘Als weldenkend mens kun je het hier niet mee oneens zijn,’ zegt PKvV Fact-voorzitter Beau Jonkhout.

Jeroen Cornelissen nieuwe decaan TNW

Hoogleraar Jeroen Cornelissen wordt vanaf 1 september decaan van de faculteit TNW. Het is een opvallende benoeming; afgelopen februari werd nog besloten hem te ontslaan en zijn vakgroep op te heffen.

U-Today is met zomerreces

U-Today houdt een zomerstop. Tussen vrijdag 18 juli en maandag 4 augustus is de redactie gesloten en ook per mail niet bereikbaar. Vanaf 4 augustus is de redactie weer open.
