CT-research scores well

| Redactie

Research in the Netherlands in the fields of chemistry and chemical technology is at an internationally high level. This is stated in the report of an international visitation committee. Chemical research at the UT scores well: with regard to productivity and impact of publications it belongs to the top 3 of the ten investigated universities, with an impact factor of over 1.8 times the international average.

The organisation of chemical research at the UT is called 'efficient' by the international visitation committee and current research programmes can withstand an international comparison without a problem.

Two groups are explicitly called 'excellent groups': the group 'Supramolecular Chemistry and Technology' of professor David Reinhoudt and the group 'Polymer Chemistry and Biomaterials' of professor Jan Feijen. The committee further notes that CT has undergone a considerable rejuvenation of its professorial corps and that these young groups with their international research programmes have good perspectives for the future.
