Last Thursday all 12 participants to an overseas training programme on Quality Assurance (QA) in Higher Education received an official certificate for the successful completion of a training programme, offered by the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS) and the department of Educational Science and Technology, under the umbrella of the DECIDE-consortium in which both participate. This group of representatives of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) consisted of 3 representatives from Indonesia, 2 from Vietnam and 7 from Thailand. In total they spent a period of 10 weeks here. A main result from the training consists of a policy proposal on 'Implementation of Regional Quality Assurance Policy in Southeast Asian Higher Education'.
This UT training stay will be followed up next spring with a workshop in Bangkok. The time in between will be dedicated to further elaboration of the proposal and to create support for it from all SEAMEO countries.
