JazzPodium Drienerlo presents The Yuri Honing Trio, three prominent progressive European jazz musicians, and three young prominent musicians from the Arab world. An evening where jazz meets classical Arab music. The six are well aware of the pitfalls of such a merger. So very often these so-called east-west co-operations lead to superficial cliches, and all deeper musical meaning has disappeared. This project tries to be a well thought-out search into mutual motives, taking into account the essential principles of both forms of music.
