The registration for the 31st Batavierenrace on 26 April 2003 started Tuesday. Students and staff can register for the world's largest relay race until 30 November 2002. Each year the largest student event in the Netherlands starts at midnight in Nijmegen and finishes on the Twente campus, where a spectacular party takes place.
A team for the relay race consists of 25 runners each taking care of a distance varying from 3.4 to 12.3 kilometres. Over 7000 enthusiastic runners for Dutch Universities and Hogescholen take part. In addition, a few hundred foreign students from Hungary, Slovenia, Great Britain, Germany and Switzerland run the race.
If you want to take part too, register with a team from your faculty, sports, study, student society, or group of friends. The team leader registers by filling in the form that can be found on www.batavierenrace.nl. Registration closes on 30 November.
