The annual jazz day in the Vrijhof will this year take place on 7 October. The lunch concert 'Broodje Cultuur' will feature Willem Breuker, one of the best-known names in the Dutch modern jazz scene since the early sixties. This time he will perform modern jazz on - of all things - street organs. Fed up with the well-worn tunes you hear while shopping? This concert will convince you that these things can sound tremendously exciting. Because of the size of the organs the concert will take place in a tent near the Vrijhof.
In the evening the Benjamin Herman 4-tet will perform jazz that will make your ears steam. The 4-tet feels that creating the right vibe and drive is more important than at all cost performing with a high degree of complexity. Not that the cast of four doesn't know what it's doing. In their fields they are, without exaggeration, the most sought-after specialists in the country.
