PITS (Platform Internationalization Student organizations of Twente) is busy planning International Week 2002. Several UT student organization leaders comprise PITS, representing AEGEE-Enschede, AIESEC-Twente, SMIT, the International Office, Monsoon, the Student Union and WOT. Together these groups are organizing International Week to be held October 2-5.
International Week is held in connection with a NUFFIC national campaign called 'Wil Weg Week', aimed at Dutch students who wish to study abroad. The UT alters the focal point to accommodate international students. All UT students are cordially welcome to International Week events.
One purpose of International Week is to pay more attention to internationalization; another is to offer possibilities for Dutch and foreign students to integrate; and a third is to get students acquainted with PITS and its organizations.
International Week 2002 will consist of various activities: breakfast with Rector Van Vught, an information session on studying abroad, a seminar about the role of languages, an evening of traditional international games, and a foreign food festival featuring the culinary specialties of various countries.
