The security service warns staff and students to watch their belongings carefully. In the past week a number of employees were victims of burglary. In the TWRC-building a laptop was stolen from a room. Two days later a laptop disappeared from the room of an employee in the WB-building. Not only expensive laptops, but also personal belongings like bags and wallets are targeted. A backpack from the WB-building was reported stolen, as well as a wallet from the TWRC-building. In all cases the things were left in unlocked rooms.
M. Weustink, head of security, calls for extra attentiveness. 'If suspect people are walking around, security can always be alerted at tel. 2222 or 2134.' People should also lock their doors when leaving their rooms.
