The number of parties participating in June in the elections for the university council has been reduced from five to three. The up to now independent parties KPS, Cabaal and the aio-party UTemp will be going into the elections as one party to confront the Drienerlo Democrats (DD) and student party UReka.

Last week on Wednesday before five o'clock the candidate-lists had to be submitted at the registry. In the beginning of the afternoon KPS, Cabaal and Utemp announced their surprise alliance in a press release. On the combined list are eight eligible members of staff and two eligible students. The origin of the candidates remains visible to the voters, although UTemp has not been able get an aio on the list.

DD takes part in the elections with five members of staff and three students. In contrast to last year the Democrats did manage to recruit student-candidates. UReka submitted a list with nine names of students to the election bureau.

In the elections, which are going to be held electronically between 3 and 12 June, nine student and nine staff seats can be won.
