The American company Educational Testing Service (ETS) has awarded L.S. Sotaridona, MSc., Filipino PhD-student at Educational Science and Technology, a Harold Gulliksen Psychometric Fellowship Award. Each year, three to four of these awards are given to young talented researchers without a PhD.
The award comes with a $20,000 grant, given to the university to contribute to Sotaridona's university expenses. Sotaridona personally receives a computer and can spend 6 weeks at ETS this summer. The company is one of the world's largest developer of exams.
Sotaridona researches statistical techniques to determine whether fraud is committed during exams.
