Planet Internet has said that they have been threatened with attack from the campusnet at the University of Twente. Users are supposed to want to carry out cyber attacks because of the continuing reports on software piracy.

On a by now discontinued discussion forum (http://dance.student.utwente.nl/discussion.php) users of the university network suggested to attack Planet. This could for example be done with a DoS-attack or by overloading the mailbox of Planet Multimedia, Planet's in-house magazine.

Under the heading of 'University of Twente pirate's den' the website had related how traders approached first year students with the assignment to open servers from their rooms for the trade in so-called 'warez' (illegal software).

Student Net Twente (SNT), who looks after the interests of net users, says to regret what happened in the discussion group. 'Threatening Planet in this way is not only possibly illegal, it also damages the image of the university', SNT warned on the forum.
