Hundreds of foreign students who started a Dutch study programme in 2000 will not get a contribution from Secretary Hermans to continue their study. This is made clear by his answer to questions in parliament by PvdA member of parliament Rehwinkel.
After cutbacks in 1999 by Hermans, students from Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland or countries from the European Union should themselves pay the complete amount of tuition fees, now 1339 euro. Before, the Dutch programme did not cost them anything.
