Classical student choir Drienerloos Vocaal Ensemble (DVE) will participate in the 'First International Euro Christmas Carol Festival', to be held in the Spanish city of Bilbao on 9 December. The festival is organized by the Basque organization for the promotion of the new European currency, the Euro. A student choir represents every country that takes part in the Euro. The Netherlands is represented by DVE, a student choir from the University of Twente!

Every participating choir will sing two Christmas carols from their home country. Together, all the choirs will sing the Basque carol 'Al Nacimiento del Hijo de Dios' and the last part of the Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, which is better known as the European anthem. Videoteam bekroond met Educational Support Spotlight award

Het videoteam van de dienst LISA valt met de Educational Support Spotlight award in de prijzen. Donderdagmiddag kreeg Koen Hak – teamleider van het videoteam – de award en het certificaat namens Young Academy Twente overhandigd.

Spinoza- en Stevinpremies toegekend: ‘Mooiste cadeau voor wetenschapper’

Onderzoeksfinancier NWO heeft de hoogste onderscheidingen in de Nederlandse wetenschap toegekend: twee Spinozapremies en twee Stevinpremies. De winnaars krijgen ieder 1,5 miljoen euro. ‘Een enorme erkenning.’
