On August 19, the doors opened to the public. The modern interior was designed by retail organization Intres, who left the original rustic bricks on sections of the floor in order to maintain the historical integrity of the building. Visitors can browse the shelves of books, read the newspaper, drink a cup of coffee or take a break on the stylish green couches.
Next to the scientific text books, there are other popular scientific books to purchase in different subject areas. The assortment of books is expanded, as is the size of the store, which now houses a bigger selection of greeting cards, gift books and novels in English and Dutch.
`All required reading materials for academic courses, which are considered foreign books, are now offered to the public at a 10% discount,' said Mieke Hulscher, the current manager of the bookstore. She said the bookstore also offers office supplies, such as pens, binders and notebooks. The new bookstore is a meeting place for students and employees of the UT, so why not pay a visit and have a look around?
Opening times are Monday through Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm.
