European Research Council lecture Drs. Eva de Bruijne, visiting lecturer from the Department of Policy Development at the National Organization for Scientific Research (NWO), will speak about her work with the European Research Council. Starting Grants are available for promising researchers who have the proven potential to become independent research leaders. This informative lecture will be of interest to Dutch-based researchers who are interested or planning to submit a Starting Grant proposal this year. Work-Life Balance workshop

Are you heading towards burn-out? This is a question that Drs. Johan van der Burgh, a specialist in the fields of stress, burn-out, lifestyle and trauma, hopes to clarify in his interactive workshop. He will examine the intricacies of balancing work and life through time management techniques, personal goals and communication skills. Participants will be expected to complete assignments and interact with both the trainer and with each other. On completion of the workshop, participants will not only be able to assess the risks to their work-life balance, they will also be armed with ideas on how to jump-start the improvement process.
