According to the Deuren Open! (Doors Open!) Innovation platform, member Kees Tetteroo, the quality and provision of international education in the Netherlands must be legalized and promoted. International education is not known enough to the expat community, top universities and businesses. Most school’s curriculums are only taught in Dutch. Tetteroo says the current situation must change.
A report was given to Renk Roborgh, the Director-General for Higher Education, Vocational Education and Science at the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW), on behalf of State Secretary Marja van Bijsterveldt from the OCW who stated, 'It appears teachers in international education will acquire an exceptional positionwhere schools can easily attract teachers from outside of the European Union.’ A recommendation will be discussed around the topic of forthcoming adaptations to the Alien Labor Act (Wet Arbeid Vreemdelingen), emphasizing the goal to provide sufficient international education to put a spring in the step of international businesses and their employees.
