De zonneauto van Solar Team Twente, de 21Revolution, is woensdag 21 oktober goedgekeurd tijdens de technische keuring. De keuring is een verplicht onderdeel om te mogen starten aan de World Solar Challenge. Scrutineers checken samen met enkele teamleden de auto op veiligheid en volledigheid. Na 3,5 uur wachten kreeg het team het verlossende antwoord: de 21Revolution is er technisch klaar voor om zondag te starten.
Geen enkel onderdeel ontsnapte aan het kritische oog van de scrutineers. De centimeter ging langs de auto voor het opmeten van lengte, breedte en hoogte. Tijdens de bouw is met precisie gewerkt. Op de millimeter nauwkeurig voldoet de zonneauto aan de toegestane maximale afmetingen. De 21Revolution heeft inmiddels meer dan éénderde van de totale route afgelegd in testkilometers. Met de officiële goedkeurig van woensdag zegt het team er klaar voor te zijn.
