Multimillion grant

The director of IMPACT institute Hans Kuipers, a professor of Fundamentals of Chemical Reaction Engineering, received an Advanced Grant from the European Research Council (ERC). The subsidy of 2.5 million euro is the largest and most prestigious grant distributed in the European association. The money will be used for research in the area of heat and material transfer in complex gas-particle reactors. This is the second time a UT professor has received the highest ERC grant. Last year, Professor Albert van den Berg from the BIOS Lab-on-a-chip group was the first recipient.
