The application is set up through the World Class Maintenance Program (WCM), a program aimed to put field maintenance on the map in upkeep and revision of capital goods such as aircrafts and trains. The UT research group is applying for the request on behalf of universities and colleges. The Ministry is expected to consider awarding the grant in early 2010, and the UT will also compete for the millions.
Thirty large Dutch companies have connected with the program. NedTrain is the first company to have a contract with the UT in this field.
