Student Union bezuinigt, verenigingen de dupe

De Student Union is genoodzaakt om met ingang van het nieuwe collegejaar bezuinigingsmaatregelen te nemen die alle sportverenigingen treffen. Zij worden gekort op hun subsidie. Ook de Unioncard wordt duurder en er gaat minder geld naar de studenttrainers.

Student Union cuts back, associations suffer

The Student Union is forced to take austerity measures that affect all sports associations as of the new academic year. They will have their subsidy cut. The Unioncard is also becoming more expensive and less money is going to the student trainers.

VV Drienerlo op de rand van terugkeer in derde klasse

Voor de eerste selectie van Drienerlo moet het zaterdag gebeuren: bij winst in de nacompetitiefinale keert het team van trainer Marnix Smit terug in de derde klasse. Aanvoerder en penningmeester Pau Ribas heeft goede hoop. ‘We staan al met 1-0 voor.’

Het zijn mooie tijden voor de basketballers van Arriba. De eerste mannenselectie – internationaler dan ooit – draait mee in de landelijke eerste divisie, het derde niveau van Nederland. Shooting guard en UT-student Berk Yilmaz (22) gelooft dat er ondanks het succes nog rek in de selectie zit.
