Vier Internationale Vrouwendag samen met ons!, was de oproep van het TechMed Centre. En daar werd gisteren door veel vrouwen, van binnen én buiten de UT, gehoor aan gegeven. In honour of the International Women’s Day 2022 on 8 March, Vrijhof Culture organized a get-together dedicated to ‘breaking the bias’. The event also served as an occasion to reopen an exhibit of ‘Women in Mathematics’ and ‘forgotten’ female inventors in Vrijhof on campus.
Would you boldly go where nobody like you has gone before? ‘That is the power of role models: they inspire you and show you what is possible. Without their example, you’ll stay in your own bubble.’ Today, on the International Women’s Day, seven women from the UT share stories about their personal role models and what (female) representation means to them.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, U-Today spoke with three women from the UT who have started their own companies. What drove them to take the risk of becoming an entrepreneur and what did their road to success look like?
