The UT talk show ‘Recognition and Rewards’, originally scheduled to be held today on campus, has been postponed to 15 February 2022. This decision was taken due to the worsening Covid-19 situation in the country.

The UT-wide event for employees and students is organized by Shaping Expert Group Individuals & Teams in collaboration with the Netherlands Debate Institute. It should cover various topics falling under the theme ‘Recognition and Rewards’ and discuss what specific changes are needed at the University of Twente.

‘Due to the stricter COVID-19 regulations’, it has been decided to postpone the event until next year, explains one of the organizers Jeroen Jansen. ‘We were aiming for a dynamic event, where people work in groups and move around. It is unclear if facemasks would be required at certain moments and we feel it might impact the quality of the event. Moreover, we want to avoid making people uncomfortable. The message from the UT Executive Board further reinforced our decision, as the Board asked everyone at the university to reconsider whether physical meetings are truly necessary.’

The talk show, initially planned for 9 November 2021, was set to welcome about 90 participants from the UT, as well as external parties including representatives from other universities and The National Recognition & Rewards platform of VSNU. Everyone who has registered for the event can join the talk show when it takes place on 15 February in the afternoon.
