Enschede visits St. Petersburg

Fifteen International Business Administration students from the UT had the great opportunity to experience Russian lifestyle by spending last week in the cultural capital of Russia, namely St. Petersburg. The group was a mixture of German and Dutch first and second year students. The exchange took place within the European network ESTIEM, which connects Industrial Engineering students from all over Europe.

The UT students spent a whole week with their Russian friends, who organized a program including cultural parts as well as fun parts. The traditional pan-cake festival was one of our program points. This festival was celebrated in the whole city, it was finished by burning a doll in order to say goodbye to the winter. Moreover they visited a Russian school and a Russian University. Especially the cultural difference, for instance the national holidays as the Women’s day, which has an important role for Russian citizens were interesting to experience. Of course the students did not miss any of the beautiful sightseeing attractions thanks to their private tour guides, who were Russian students studying Tourism.

The group will welcome the ESTIEMers from St.Petersburg in Enschede at the beginning of June.
