‘Knowledge inspires me’

On Schlickgasse 4 in Vienna, Professor emerita Helga Nowotny (73) has a small office that is the hub of all of her activities. But as president of the European Research Council (ERC) she also flies regularly to Brussels and other metropolises for meetings and congresses. There is no stopping her, it seems. ‘Knowledge is what inspires me.’
