Title University Protected
The Dutch State Secretary Marja van Bijsterveldt is planning on protecting the Dutch titles ‘university’ and ‘university of applied science’ by law. She believes a growing number of institutions for higher education are using the titles. Van Bijsterveldt’s plans state that only institutions that have been approved by the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) will be authorized to use the titles and award academic grades.
